I'm in a tizzy tonight.

I am leaving in a half hour to go to a show, something I have been looking forward to for months. But this time, I invited a friend. A friend I could be interested in.

Now I'm all bunched up and scared and ready to call and say I can't.

I'm shaking and frightened and borderline absolute freaked the f**k out.

I know him. He isn't going to hurt me. I KNOW this. But I haven't slept in a week and I can't stop the fear.

I'm terrified. I have to leave in 25 minutes. How do I do this?

Remember to breathe! :) You might mention to him that you're a bit nervous. (Just bringing it up can help defuse things.) How much of your history does this friend know? If he knows enough, it wouldn't hurt to let him know this is "you, being very brave and very scared at the same time". People who like you tend to respond well to that! :)

Keep breathing so you don't pass out and have a wonderful time. Good for you for taking this chance!

Thank you for your words. I was grounding like a champ and made it.

He knows my history. He's a very good man, always lets me pick the seat with the clear line of escape I gave him a hug at the end of the night and it felt good.

The show was hilarious and I'm glad I didn't bail. I just get so freaked out since the memories of the csa started earlier this year. I told him when i got there, but he saw it as soon as i walked up and told me to breathe. Good advice eh @scout86 ?
