So I'm seriously considering therapy. The problem is that I go to college in a real small town. The therapy center that I would like to go to is just shy of 2 hours away. The town it is located in is one of the closest "larger" towns nearby that offer these services. But that is roughly $35 in gas and 4 hours a week simply just traveling to and from. Do you guys think it would be worth it? I'm a poor college student and I could make it work if I put myself on a real strict budget. I guess I am just unsure. I can see the pros and cons of each decision.

Hi Inwardly_Broken,

I guess only you can know the answer to that!

In my opinion therapy is always worthwhile, but that is assuming you have the perfect therapist. Of course you need to consider the funds as you have a budget to keep. But therapy is worth so much more than money. It can change your whole life, and literally transform you. Will that be the case for you? - well you will only know that with hindsight.

Personally I think face to face therapy is best. Especially when you are just starting and building a relationship with the therapist. However in the longer term, does the therapy centre offer any alternative - such as sessions by video conferencing/telephone etc. Also, now that I am 'better' I have few sessions. But I still have text and email support from T. These are all ideas to consider, and negotiate.
