New Here
I've been dealing with myptsd since November '15 100% med free (excluding marijuana)
I'm just Wondering if anyone else here is in the same boat as I am 100% prescription medicine free?
I can't be alone. I don't wanna be the only one felling the true symptoms without the Vail of medication.

Med free here too. I had lexapro from aug. 2014- aug. 2015 but weaned off. It can be hard sometimes as I have massive swings sometimes but I am managing it through therapy and my own inner work. I can do a lot but it just comes and goes with whatever cycle I am in.

I started recovery in April 2007 and decided to do it med free. Lots of therapy but also found a great naturopath who kept me topped up with herbal tonic and a combination of Kava and Remotiv (St Johns Wort). Also found magnesium and complex Vit B to be helpful too. Naturopath was working on the adrenal glands which had been overloaded and making me incredibly tired and also low immune system.

And, yeah, you get to feel it all - the good stuff and the excruciatingly bad stuff. All the best with your recovery @Just_Dan it's not an easy road, whichever way you go. I guess it's whatever feels right and aligns with your values (that's why I chose the natural path)

I'm med free but not really through choice. All the antidepressant I've tried have made me worse or done absolutely nothing. Weed makes me worse it just doesn't agree with some people I guess. Anti anxiety meds (yeah good ones Valium for example) are hard to get prescribed in the uk it's not good idea to be on them long term anyway. I think therapy and this forum has been the best thing I could do for myself. It's hard I have to be honest with myself and put in a lot of work but what else is there to do? What other option is there? Just have to keep dragging myself forward. Hmm this turned into rambling oops.

Last time I checked, marijuana is a helluva drug.

True.

@Just_Dan Just wanted to add, that prescribed medical marijuana plus recreational use is allowed in my state in the USA. So if one is not prescribed for pot and has the occasional joint or what knot then ...I guess it might be stretched to say 100% drug free. So you may wish to consider that aspect.

I do not partake however, I actually do smoke cigarettes and drink kettles of coffee which is a form of legal drug of choice. So I am only prescribed drug-free.

Thanks Friday...good point.

Yes, also med-free. The stuff scares the crap outa me. I was put on some of the older meds when i was much younger and since then I can't even consider them in my life.

I run, work out, krav maga, lift weights, play hockey, bike, basically anything physical that can keep the brain/body connection in a way I can not only tolerate but actively seek out.

I don't drink and weed makes me paranoid. Not a lot else to choose from. I try to get sleep but my work schedule sometimes makes it difficult. I can't stress the importance of sleep and as healthy a diet as you can manage.

Best wishes on your journey.
