New Here
I am new to the forum and would love to find other military spouses or family members that I dealing with the PTSD of their soldier loved one.

My DH and I are on our fourth deployment together (his fifth), and I think he's hit his breaking point. I am not sure who will come home to me next month- nice, sweet, loving husband or callous, mean, hateful husband.

I would love to hear others' stories of how they coped with their loved one.

Welcome to the forum gijohnnysgal. There are a few members who are in your situation however I don't recall if they have been on the forum lately. If you go back and search the Carers section you will find posts similar to yours. My husband (Anthony) is a veteran so I can't shed any light on your question sorry.

Importantly, don't limit yourself just to military spouses as other Carers can offer a lot of insight as PTSD is PTSD to a point.

Welcome to the group. I don't have a spouse with PTSD, have a friend but I have been on this site for quite some time now and have read several entries from women with deployed or recently redeployed husbands. So definitely stick around and do some searches through the old entries and just in general look through the topics you will find extremely relevant information on here concerning your situation. I love this forum, it's been so educational. :) Welcome.

Hi

Welcome to the forum. I have heard an extremely similar story to yours here in the forum, but I can't remember who posted it, sorry.

I am sure you will find some interesting reading here and lots of good advice.

Good luck and take care

No, the combat PTSD forum is for veterans only. Anyone who registers on that site and is not a veteran is banned.

Hi,

I am the girlfriend of a Marine veteran who has PTSD. He is still adjusting into civilian life, being recently retired only a couple months ago. I also am the friend of several soldiers and Marines who deployed with PTSD.

I would love to exchange stories and help each other out. I miss the support of the military wives/fiances/girlfriends that I had while my guy was still on base.

Angels, like others have said have a look back at past posts in the Carers general discussion area as we only divided into categories a few months ago and I haven't had the time to go through and move them all accordingly. The members I recall in your situation have not been active of late. I am the wife of a military sufferer however cannot relate whatsoever as I met my husband some years after he had left the military. Seek and you shall find :)

My C is ex-military. I re-met him (I knew him when I was little) after he had been discharged for 40 years. Funny thing about that. They carry their "soldier" persona right into later life. So whether you have just met your guy/gal while he/she is still in the military, or met him/her afterwards, many, many issues are the same, for both the ex-soldier, and their partner.

Military here as well, and I too have been hoping to connect with other military people. Very new to forum, not really sure how things like messaging work, but in any event, would like to talk.
