Spent a day in the Columbia River Gorge, and as we are driving up a mountain (switch backs, 1.000,000 foot drop offs, vertical roadways), the sun pops out and Ethyl announces..."I can't see!!". Then of course I really did have to pee!!!!
By some miracle we survived the ascent and descent and are then headed across the plains of Oregon into Idaho, and we stop to take some snap shots, and Ethyl says "Is that smoke coming out of the hood?". I think she is having vision issues again, until we see the antifreeze coming out the bottom of the car. I figure if we both chew a lot of gum we can plug the hole.....but all we ended up with was tired jaws. :(
So we end up in this small town looking for a mechanic and are told a "couple days". Decided to push on with a bottle of antifreeze, stopping every 40 or so miles to check the coolant levels. Called a shop in Boise and they actually had a radiator waiting for us, installed it, and had it finished in under two hours. Amazing people and the owner's wife even drove me to the airport to pick up my daughter. So cool it turned out this way. :)
Ethyl wouldn't let me drive much, so she kind of looks like this :geek:. I guess it kind of unnerved her when I got behind the wheel and started heading West instead of East. I told her I would have known to turn around when I saw the ocean...I'm not that dingy.:roflmao:
Well now for more pics......
