So it's a sort of exposure therapy, going from doing something I'm afraid of first with lots of support and reassurance, then going on to do it on my own.
Exactly! Its how my emotions "grew up", learning like I would of back then, sort of.
I'd need to start with something that has a short feedback loop where I can tell pretty quickly whether it happened or not, as opposed to something more open-ended where it could happen anytime in the future.
Yeah, thats what I meant by small...well that and not something like a nuke being dropped on Canada (using my own thoughts there) but you know, something that you can start with that if it came true it wouldnt be like the entire world, or even your world would fall apart. Start with small fears (skmething that woyld he easier dor you to write with your therapist) with the reassurence, continue with small on your own them move to bigger with reassurence and bigger on your own etc.
Im sure your therapist is just as patient and understanding as mine (and i dont know how mine has put up with me for 7 yrs) but def run my therory and others by your therapist and this as well. Get your therapist's opinion and put it higher than anyone's, including mine. ;)
