I completely agree with you. I actually have a lot of patience, generally, with his "tailspins" . This one has just been harder because of his son being involved. I really want to "protect" him as much as possible.

The fact I felt heard, makes me realize I might have been a bit too over-dramatic in my original assessment. Most likely because all of my hurt feelings just came to a head.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It really is helpful to me in that it helps me keep a better perspective of the whole situation.
