Hi,

I’m on Trileptal/Oxcarbazepine and it has evened out my moods.

I am not used to this. It is new. I feel uneasy as I’m used to my moods being all over the place. But now, they’re not.

Will I get used to this feeling of stability?

Please no “this is why I don’t believe in medication” type responses. They will be unhelpful to me. I am NOT going off of this medication. As uneasy as I feel, the medication is doing exactly what it’s supposed to, stabilize my moods.

Thank you.

I’m not on medication atm but when I was this was exactly how I felt at first. Like what is this “stillness”? It was unsettling and almost even boring at first but it’s really the best way to be able to get your life together. It opens you up to deal with any other issues that need dealing with and let’s you build on a stable surface that isn’t always shifting and knocking over your progress like it used to. Instead of being preoccupied with your shifting moods you can work on other areas of your life.
So yeah you get used to it and even start to be really grateful for the stability. Even though I’m not medicated anymore the medication I was on made it possible to get to the point in my life where I feel relatively healthy and capable of dealing with what whatever setbacks comes my way.

I agree that you will adjust and get more stable and you will reap the benefits. Good for you,

I suppose it comes across that I am anti-medication. Really I am not. It is just that they don't work for me.

I would say just roll with the good things and do not make problems where there are none.

I am happy for you!!!!!!!!!!
