Wondering about necessities looks different in different states' polit-economical situation.

& let's not forget it's a class thing, no matter where one is.

Similar round here and it's nowhere near Bronx, or Detroit, or borders, not even starting on other countries with all-around shit situations not simply suburbs &. Change a city part and it makes for a very different picture. Ditto to change social circles & heckuva different situations.

Might be mainly the town, but I'm just living in a place where we are always...

Might just be the town, it's a coast town, that has half the population it had 10 years ago, a medium amount of poverty, and a lot of people who've been living there for a while, so there is not much rush... Living somewhere for long makes it much more familiar and easier.

There has always been a bit of homophobia, but a lot of it is also rooted from some of the people who did bad to the general population being homosexuals and thus turning the image bad, they younger people are generally acceptant, and even churches accept gays.

Hehe, still like, the biggest port in the country, third biggest city, and there is about 200k people, but you normally don't notice there being 200k people... It seems like there are less, because it's built of many self functioning areas merged together, by pure spreading. One could live a lifetime without ever even needing to go to the center (which is 5 minutes drive from the edge of the city :P )

Not 'everwhere' per se but there was also vandalism of urinals here by a radical sect and I have heard of a push in Sweden. I'm not worried just saying that it's a phemomenon.

BBC, Al Jezeera usually do pretty good as far as news media. Although, I lament that Ted Koppel and Peter Jennings are no longer present. The later, of course deceased and the former in forced obscelence. Devoting a whole show to one important topic isn't germane to the education of society as much as Kanye West's latest antics...
