I have pain and feel it is a dissociated aspect; could be reaction from car wreck, anxiety, also feel it is an enemy within possibly dissociated from childhood physical abuse? Reliving, or a dissociated something not sure. But it sucks and my heart goes out to you. Grounding helps and sleeping to avoid. Working on that now myself in therapy

Even if they aren't ways to diagnose many things, we really have very common body language. A hand to your heart could be warmth, compassion, or fear and self-protection. Try putting a hand to your heart and feeling angry. ??? Doesn't work. Or try clenching your jaw and making really tight fists...then try to feel joy, or kindness or peace.

I'm interested in the Chinese medicine...meh....I don't want to get into it. But there are non-diagnostic messages coming at our bodies every day. Wise if we can listen. Today my arm is wrapped up in athletic tape so it feels safe and supported....not always having to shield or protect me...

Body language - new cover of the New York magazine. Last week some of the women were in photos in lawyers office with the hand to the sternum. Here all the women have there hands on their knees. Why does that body language mean?

As for body stuff, I have upper back pain. My lungs collapsed and forced all my air into my upper back. But also, my mom broke a door against my upper back. But more generally, we curl in when threatened, even if in benign ways, because that posture protects our vital organs. Little ones can't fight or flee. But from the beginning they have postures that protect the heart and lungs. What happens if you carry this on all day, every day, is chronic pain.

@Chava yes, my body curls inward, knees tucked up, but my arms cross my chest tightly the cling to the neck, head bent down. Some of this is pain from my neck to arms and fingers. They can not lay along side my body. Chocking. the pain in back and arms spasms. Get maybe 3 hours of sleep, rest of night is constant changing left to right as nerves spasm rotator cuff, elbow and though hands.

so my avitar, hands free, body floating supine.
