Hi all! Just wanted to post a thread here that the regional group we've been working on for the Midwest US is up and running. Only a few weeks out, we have 15 members (nearly double what we began with), and we're hoping to continue to grow. We're trying to get to know one another via a private conversation thread, and periodic meetings in the chat room. The goal, eventually, will be to begin to meet in person. So far discussions are mostly of the informal, "getting to know you" variety, but will likely progress towards more specific topics related to PTSD.

If there is anyone from the Midwest that would like to join us, please post here, and we'd be happy to add you. If you have any questions, this would also be a good place to ask. If you happen to see us in the chatroom, we'd love it if you came and said hello and chatted with us a bit. I'm glad there's been so much interest - keep it coming!

Great idea, ClairBear! Perhaps someone can give me temporary online residency in a Midwestern state!

Pennsylvania is about as far east in the US as one can be unless I put my toes in the sandy soil of New Jersey or Delaware.

Maybe when I get off this handheld device which doesn't have flash memory for chatting, you'll let an easterner pop in to listen and learn.

Just wanted to wish your group well. I hope you all gain much from one another.

Icon, you could always start a regional group for the east. Where in PA are you? I have family in Pittsburgh and Murrysville. They say words luke "yuns" and "gumband" and "red up", lol! Beatiful part of the country. Have driven through the Allegheny Mountains. Gorgeous.

Hi All,

I keep adding people as I see the interest. You will see two PC's appear in your in box. One is our "chatting" PC, just a check in and organize meetings and how are you doing running dialog. The other is for introductions. If I miss you, please let me know and I will add you.

Trying to keep track of every one, but if I miss you, just let me know. My PTSD brain is kind of like Swiss cheese sometimes.

I'm new to the forum, and don't know how to use all the features yet, but am interested in joining a support group. I live in the far NW suburbs of Chicago. I work Wednesday nights, but if there's a way I can participate, I usually go online when I get home. I check for replies, etc. everyday.
