I have been in bed or on the couch with ice packs and heat since Saturday. I have been having Migraines and headaches from hell. Sunday being the worst, with pain and the medication that I took. UGH!!!!

I know that you can have rebound headaches from taking too much medication so I didn't take anything from Sunday at 4 am until this afternoon. Then gave in and took some Darvocet and Tylenol. I know I shouldn't have taken the Tylenol but too late.

I have an appointment tomorrow with my NP, but she is going to yell because she scheduled an MRI 2 weeks ago, and I canceled it. She is concerned because my mother had a brain aneurysm before she died. I KNOW I have migraines, and I am not worried about anything else.

My question/problem with all of this... I have been dizzy when the headaches seem to let up for awhile. Then the pain comes back and the dizziness leaves. So have any of you experienced dizziness with Migraines/headaches???? Or is it just me????

I have had migraines for years, but never dizziness. Are anurisms and migraines connected? Have you tried Imitrex? Hey I understand why you would take Darvocet and more to get rid of the pain, you are desperate at this time!

I have a long history of migraines and I HAVE had dizziness connected with them before. It has been a long time since I've experienced it but about 10 years ago I went through a long stretch of time when dizziness always came with my migraines. I was frightened by it at the time but my physician checked everything else out and all was well. He said that sometimes, for some people dizziness can accompany migraines. HTH.

Hi She Cat,

Dizziness is one of the neurological syptoms of Migraine, you can have the dizziness with or without the pain in the head.

She cat I hope you get complete relief soon.:Hug_emoticon:

Thanks all... I finally went to my NP today and got a script for Midrin. I took this drug probably 25 yrs ago for Migrains so hopefully it will work again.

Just can't cope with the migraines any longer....

Yep, dizzy along with vertigo then the headaches. I have what is called white focci material on the end of the blood vessles in my brain from the extreme blood pressure spikes, so I assume that's what it's from. VA docs don't seem to be interested in nailing these things down for certain, They just kinda leave it out there as if it's an article in the newspaper that caught their eye for a minute.

migraines and dizziness....all the time...I have had migraines since I was a little girl, they are genetic for me...great gift to get passed on :)
mine have always been a mixed bag of tricks...but dizzy is a popular item...it sucks and you really just need to be aware of it for driving or getting up quickly or stairs...I take Immitrex for mine, it's a hit and miss med for me. Mine can last for days on end....But if you are up for trying anything, repeat visits to an acupuncturist all worth looking into!

Best of luck,
Annie

Have exactly the same thing She...related to meds too and rebounds from medications too..I think it is hard to figure out the answer.

I called my NP on Thursday and told her that the medication IS working, but I am having headaches, and dizziness every stinking day.....She called me back within the hour and had me booked with a Neurologist for Sept. 8th....

So we shall see where this leads to....UGH!!!!!

Update

Ok so I am home from seeing the Neurologist.....

1) I have regular migraines which he gave me a script for Zomig, to take on the onset of migraine.

2) I have something called ? Positional Vertigo, due to having calcium deposits in the inner ear. I have an exercise to do 2 x a day. Sit IN BED with legs out in front, cross arms over chest, turn head to left, put chin on shoulder and THROW myself back onto the bed and DON'T move for 20 seconds. Slowly turn head to right for 20 seconds, and then slowly roll to the right till on stomach till nose in in mattress. OMG!!!!!!!!!

This is the dizziness that I am having.....

3) I am also having what he called Constrictual Muscle headaches (from muscles in my neck) due to Fibromyalgia, and PTSD for which he gave me a script for ???? Can't read his writing, LOL!!!!! I have to tak 1 a night for a week, the 2 a night for a week, then 3 for a week and then 4 a night for indefinate period of time. I think it's called Desiprmahl????????

I also have exercises for my neck...UGH!!!!

4) He tested me for Carple tunnel also, which I have had issues with in the past, and guess what???? It's now worse than before, and I have to wear wrist splints 24/7 for 6 weeks... hahahahahahahahahahhahahh

I have to have a hearing test as he thinks there are issues with my ears. And I have to have a electroencephlogram....

That's all folks....

I hope you get some much needed relief. You are not alone in the frustration you feel with neverending pain. You are strong...you are woking through it too.
