The rate of PTSD and depression is high among active military members, but stigma often prevents them from seeking care from a mental health specialist. A new study finds that treating such patients in primary care settings with a program that includes specially trained nurses and telephone therapy significantly improves outcomes after one year. The findings support the idea that such efforts can bring more military members under a high-quality treatment umbrella sooner.

This makes sense. It's target focused case management while helping people access care. I'm not sure what they meant by "telephone therapy." That tends to not be highly helpful from what move read. Tele- health is different. Think Skype. The therapist and client are "face to face." A good part of therapy is being able to read body language.

My local VA uses tele- health for access to care specialists that aren't available on campus
And to reduce access times for mental health

The VA also has a target case management program for depression- TIDES
