Mj For Ptsd Vs. Occupations

I am serious to the point of considering MJ for this shit. Sometimes to take of the edge!

However, I have an occupation that I think would frown on. Certain incidents could trigger a blood test and or piss test. I have not personally witnessed it though. I do not need any more paranoia in my life than to worry about my career.

Seems like everyone is doing pot nowadays. Do they even test for it anymore (aside from the VA)?

Just curious.

Yes last time I checked it was still actively tested for. I am not sure about states where it is legalized but I assume that even still it's not very accepted as far as employer's are concerned. I used weed for a few years with many risks involved with punishment personally. I only stopped recently due to induced paranoia or avoidance after smoking. Too many rules, law's etc banning a damn plant. It's tough because in today's world everyone's running around with tons of worry, worry about the future, worry about career etc.

Smoking weed and speaking out against the government doesn't work too well :D
I really wish more states would legalize and employer's accept with a prescription ya know?
They do it for all kinds of pills why not for pot?
Anyhow, best of luck Grizz I know it sucks ass being on edge all the time.

Pretty much my exact thoughts too Bro!. I guess it isn't worth it. It's a manageable condition, just seems silly to have to manage it without when there are better alternatives.

I find it silly that it's perfectly acceptable to take mind numbing pills that in essence dull down your senses and affect job performance while appeasing the laws big pharma want lobbied to stay in effect.

I am right there with you...believe me I am starting to get desperate. The meds are sort of working, but I have gained 35 lbs and have high cholesterol for the first time ever thanks to the damned seroquel.

Standard dipstick drug tests that most employers use these days for pre-employment and randoms test for Cocaine, Opiates, THC metabolites, and Meth. OSHA reportable injuries test for all of those, plus alcohol and hallucinogens and may include a hair and/or blood test.

Here is what my research has shown:

1. It depends what state. If it is legal recreationally, Federal employees can still get busted. As can anyone where the job requires a security clearance. The rest, NBD unless OSHA reportable occurs.

2. If it is legal medicinally, get a scrip. That is easy enough.

3. The VA only tests for illegal drugs under special circumstances. Generally when checking in to mental health and or substance abuse.

4.In states where it is non-legal, company policy and OSHA standards come into play. Lost time injuries and fatalities require testing regardless of state law.

5. In states where it is legit as medicine, you cannot be held responsible by an employer any more than those prescribed heavy duty pain killers, etc.

6. If you are a card carrying tribal member, positives can be argued on religious grounds, but it often takes a lawyer war to get cleared.

7. Nothing is against the law until you get caught.

Also keep in mind that "traditional" methods of beating a test do NOT work. Anyone that states otherwise is an idiot. It ain't 1985 anymore.Niacin does work for LSD, but it does not do shit for the others. Hair and blood tests are unbeatable. Most dipstick tests are unbeatable these days. Please note that the legendary CSF tests have not been used since before I grew pubes, and even then were only used in extreme circumstances.

If I can grow a pair to regress to my old ways from California, I know it works for me. Nebraska however will crucify you upside down and naked, slit your belly, and let the crows feast for having a seed in your ashtray. Hence why I'm being a pussy about the whole thing.

Well...Shit! Based on all that, I'm screwed. I still find it ironic that it's OK for me to be loaded up with shit that I don't know where I am and run the huge risk of becoming addicted because I have a Dr. script. but I can't smoke off some stress.

Agreed.

Grizz, I am in IT as you are. Might as well need a TS clearance since we can really screw things up, especially on a global system. And I am tech support. I know the internals pretty well.

I have gone through about 3 pee tests since I got here 5 years ago. They do randoms here. Once I was on hydrocodone and had to bring in the script. IF it was MJ, I would be out the door, no questions. Private industry has its own rules.

It's a shit sandwich, especially when you reach a wall.

Yeah. Crazy thing is, I have never been tested. And I'm given a take home vehicle. I was tested last year when I was DOD which was understandable.

It isn't a big deal. Just would be a nice tool to have at times.

I've one a fair bit of union mason work and anytime I've had to take a wizz quiz. Which was anytime I got called to work a new job. Sometimes three times a months. I would use something called 'quick fix' It's fake piss and it's works like a charm. Just 30seconds in the microwave Velcro it to your inside upper thigh, stay cool and pass. Bonus alert: the union pays you $40-60 for a clean test. In my eyes I say fack em.

MJ seeds were brought on the first fleet by Sir Joseph Banks to Australia. It was marked for medicinal use and hemp for rope, clothing, etc.
It's just society that has killed it and the major pharmaceutical companies that can't get the monopoly on it.

I would like to see a survey done on blood tests taken from fatalities.

I guarantee, alcohol, amphetamines and others would be at the top of the list and MJ would be right down the bottom.

Must be nice. f*ck Pharma. f*ck em all. Bastards.
I'm still smoking just a shit load less than I let myself get to before.
Even though before was nothing compared to people who smoke blunts 24/7.
Waste of good medicine I figure. 1 gram will last me 4 to 5 days. Conservation is key.
