Post-traumatic stress disorder affects nearly 8 million adults in any given year, federal statistics show. Fortunately, clinical research has identified certain psychological interventions that effectively ameliorate the symptoms of PTSD. But most people struggling with PTSD don't receive those treatments, according to a new report.

Gee, daaaaa! Too many therapists out there all trying to make a name for themselves instead of using the proven effective treatments to actually treat the problem, then worry about counselling them for underlying issues after having reduced the clients symptoms.

PTSD is fear based... without it, PTSD doesn't exist. These proven therapies target the fear/s that are causing the symptoms to spike.
 
Talk therapy didn't do all that much for me. It was PE therapy and then EMDR that worked wonders. So if we aren't employing the things that work, what's the plan of care, then? Milk the insurance company for whatever we can get?
