Have you ever read the spoon theory? If not, I'll send you a link. It is a very good analogy for people with chronic illnesses. It has definitely helped me rethink a few things.

Hey there Britt -- I really appreciate your reply. I am doing my best to stay connected and social as much as I possibly can, and I agree that it is very important to my continued health.

I do know the spoon theory very well :)

It's a very useful system for understanding chronic illness and limited resources, either physical or mental.

I have much to learn. But I will keep trying, to defuse triggers when I can, So far exposure therapy hasn't done much. We live in ear shot of police and CIA shooting ranges and a private gun club. They have lttle cabins in the woods of their club. Scares the sh** out of me. So far all I can do is sit outside for the duration of a smoke.(I don't smoke inside the house.)

can't list physical stuff now. I'll try again later.

Yes, safenow. Housing prices have fallen so much that if we sold now we would still owe the bank the rest of the mortage. I am almost constantly triggered and grateful for grizzly cold gray days. Thank you so much for understanding me and the terror freeze or panic attacks that come along sometimes several times a day.

Thank you so much for putting up the link to the Spoon Theory. I printed it out for my husband and saved it to my hard drive to share with several others, who are dealing with chronic illness either themselves or their spouses.

This really made me tear up, though I was always considered a sickly child I did have bursts of healthy periods here and there til I was 35. I didn't have a lot of that freedom, though I did have some. I miss that though. I surely do.

The lady who wrote the Spoon Theory would be pleased to see how many people have found this helpful. It is a great story and hits the nail on the head regarding chronic illnesses. I found it while searching chronic illnesses.

I'm glad people are reading it. I have my own little spoon so that I always have one. Of course, people might think it is for other purposes. Hmmm.:laugh:
