Supporter My Boyfriend Has Ptsd

Hello everyone,
I have already read some of the comments and I must say this is the first site and I have found that there are people dealing with the same things I am, which is helpful because I had gotten to the point that I wasn't sure what to believe anymore. He did finally tell me what the trauma was but I was not part of his life . It was very hard for him to share that with me because it's like he has withdrawn shut down and doesn't talk . So I'm here to try to learn more about how I can support him and maybe help him and have him let me back in because I feel like I'm a ghost . And I'm also here to try to support the ones on this site. I am a respiratory therapist and I do work in healthcare but I work mostly with heart and lungs. PTSD is out of my field. Thank you for allowing me to join .

Learn all that you can and take care of yourself and your own needs first. There is a supporter's section where you will find support for yourself. It will be up to him to make the choice to do the work to get better and for you encourage and support him when he does, but remember you cannot do this or change it for him.
