My Dog Max Is Recovering

I like that idea. I may need to buy a spray bottle. My crazy dog is sure to hurt himself sooner or later. He is so clueless sometimes! Good luck and continued healing for Max!!

Oh, big hugs KP. I understand how these struggles can feel so draining and overwhelming now, when you are already fighting so hard to stay afloat. And there is something about the pressure and responsibility of having to care for another, even a dog, that is particularly and acutely intense at times like this.

Please do use the head collar, it will make the world of difference and will make your life easier, and safer. Wish I could come walk the little devil for you... we could send he and Del off on their own to run off their pentup energy and leave their poor worn out mums alone for a while.

And I was going to suggest the spray bottle for his wound, that's an excellent idea and is probably more sanitary for the wound too as it minimises contact with foreign bodies.

Hang in there, really am thinking of you.

I love the idea of the t-shirt and spray bottle. I was thinking of your walks and your back, I finally found something that works wonders for Big Girl it's the halti and a lot of people swear by it. It helped me with Big Girl because she was already 70lbs and she darted her head all over the place with this huge body to follow ! It was exhausting.

That is the problem, I can walk him without his lead no problem and he and my other dog chase and play. But because of the wound, he can't be let loose. Both he and my other dog are building up so much energy.

I think when H, daughter and my brother arrive tomorrow, my daughter will take the little dog for a long walk and my H can walk Max.

I intend to sit, with my feet up with a nice glass of wine.

((HUGS)) to everyone for caring.

Thanks Srain, that is what I have - great minds think alike

I am sorry I am late to respond KP as haven't been on the forum much, and just a quick visit now so don't have time to read all the thread, but I hope Max is doing well.

I took Max to the vets this morning for a pre Christmas check. Hi is OK, but will take a while to heal fully. His next check is on Wednesday.

I do feel guilty as I haven't walked either dog since Thursday. H and my daughter will be home later ant they can take that over from me. Yay, reinforcements - definitely what I need.

Just home from the vet again. I don't want to jinx anything but the wound is looking good. The vet has taken out a couple of the stitches and all being well the rest will come out next Wednesday. No more antibiotics either.

The vet says he no longer needs to wear a Tshirt, but to be honest he quite like wearing one, this morning when we changed it, silly dog sat and held up his paws to be put through the arms - just like dressing a baby.

This photo was taken on Christmas day, poor quality but it is Max is his stripey green Tshirt and paper party hat :roflmao:
