New Here
So I wanted to give a little intro about me and finally am able too. I am a female currently living in Washington State, near Joint Base Lewis McChord.

I was in Iraq between Jan - Jun 2005 at LSA Anaconda with the US Army Corps of Engineers. After Iraq, I worked on Hurricane Katrina during the end of 2005 and all of 2006. I wanted a change and volunteered for Korea but got orders to Afghanistan instead. I was in Bagram, Afghanistan from Feb - Oct 2007. I was suppose to be there till Feb 2008 but well I guess that was not in the big picture plan for me.

I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2007 and mTBI in 2011. I also suffer from hearing loss and a vestibular disorder. I was medically retired in Nov 2008. I go through phases of good and bad. I am not really sure what else to say, but I guess that will come in time.

Welcome Richie,

Plenty Iraq/Afghan vets here. Thanks for the intro, it helps us get to know you some.

Pull up a chair and get comfortable, BTW, your right it will come in time - easy does it.

Hi Ritchie,

Jimmy from Australia here. I was in Baghdad from Sep 05 - 06, was so over the stench, the mortars and the rockets, not to mention the Route Irish trips.

Welcome to our dysfunctional family.

Welcome from Ottawa Canada. For me it's PTSD from Bosnia & hearing loss from time on C-130's. Lots of good info on here if you go through past threads. It'll make you realize that you're not alone with your symptoms. While you may be American our illness, PTSD, is International.

Welcome and semper fi! Currently in Florida. But I move a lot. Glad you found the forum it is the best place on the interweb to find help and make friends.

Hi Richie. New to the forum, too. Yesterday, I "graduated" from my first round of CBT. They asked my opinion: Like they took of the top of my skull, gave me a list of everything that was wrong in there, gave me some tweezers and a mirrors, and said "Good Luck with that."

Actually, have appt tomorrow to plan the next rounds, but really angry that: (1) it hasn't gone away; (2) there is always a "next thing" to do; and (3) there are things that I am supposed to decide about (Good Luck with that!).

Sorry for the gripes. Did Katrina; did Iraq (2007-8). Had a wonderful CHU at Anaconda, next to the burn pit. Tried not to spend too much time there. Welcome.

Welcome Richie, ditto to Jimmy's OIF deployment summary was at Slayer/Victory while you were in country
