New Here
Just trying to guage if there are many people form the UK here. Like many sufferers I don't have any friends after dealing with this for years so getting to know people would be great.

I've been sufferring with PTSD since I was 17, It's only really this last two years that I've come to terms that it is PTSD and not just 'extreme anxiety/social phobia'. I'd love to get into contact with people my kind of age be if phone, internet or snail mail etc, but any age is fine with me :)

Hoping to get to meet some new friends and help others and be helped soon :)

Greg

Hi. There are some members from the UK here. I'm not far away over in Staffordshire.

Best to get to know people via the forum for a bit.

Hi Greg,

I'm from Warrington on the Cheshire Lancashire border.

There are lots of Brits on the Forum. Some of us have met up but as Ice_Fire has said, it is best to get to know people on the Forum first. Hang around here a bit and get involved and you'll soon get to know people.

Hi Greg,

There are a few of us from the UK.

I'm a tad bit older than you, but I'm up with the lingo (OMG OFP WTF LOL). OFP stands for Old Funny Person.

The best way to meet people is by posting to different threads that you can relate to. You will find you have lots in common with others on the forum. Friendships tend to blossom from a common point, and then where we live becomes less of a problem - technology has made the world very connected.

I still hide behind my avatar a bit, but any social contact and support is a good thing, and we take things one day at a time. I know you will make many friends as I have :)

Hi Greg,

I'm in Nottinghamshire, just thought I'd say hi! I know what you mean about difficulty in maintaining friendships, it's hard for people to understand. I do have two good friends, one I knew before who had a really bad car accident and suffered Ptsd and another whose father has a long term illness and his mother dissociates. I thank my lucky stars I have them, they prove to me what support and trust is. Some people I've known have accussed me of 'doing it to myself' 'liking the drama' etc etc.. which really hurts. I tried to fit myself into groups who didn't understand (not many teens/20 yr olds do)...or with groups of people who were quite screwed up. It's only in the last few years I've stopped doing it but it's hard. I hope you don't blame yourself.

See you around on the forum!
Take Care.
:)

That is where I began making friends. Now I count myself so lucky to have made friends with many amazing people from all over the world.

I've even met some in the real world . Crafty Cath, Ice_Fire, myself and others have met and believe it or not, it felt like meeting with an old friend.
