Need To Get Control Of Urge For High Risk Activities.....

That's interesting that you say that Movin'On, becuase my need for risk taking, adrenaline filled activities and obsessive gym junkie days ended when I became pregnant with my eldest son.

So, maybe it all was about protection/maternal instinct, which has now developed into an anxiety issue to the other extreme.

Whirlwind, I have also issue with adrenaline. I think it starts from my mind.

So in your case, you want to become 100% mentally prepared from mind and transform it to physical activities? This is what comes to my mind. I am trying to understand what you have posted here and where you want to go.

putting too much physical exertion on our bodies is not okay IMO.

I'd say I'd have to agree with that because, in spite of what I said before , I believe my adrenal system went pop. I went through a bi-phasic response, which is where you parasympathetic NS goes up down, like with people who are bi-polar and then into dorsal vagal state where you subconsciously remove stressors and responsibility to the point where your view of life is reductive. I have chronic fatigue apparently. I just call it the crazy stopping.

I have always been fearful, never was healthy enough for extreme sports but I spent many years throwing myself into high risk activities. Chaos and crisis felt normal somehow.

Same here, and all my high risk activities were damaging and traumatizing. I think if you are lucky enough to be on a path where, when this stuff kicks in, you have a positive outlet then ultimately its a blessing. Just as I was turning myself around and had started to get fitter I wanted to do a long distance charity walk (650 miles) and my health fell out from under me in training.

This is interesting, someone I know told me that your adrenal system can literally blow/pop and this could answer why. I will do some inevstigating on this. Thanks Springer80

Movin On what are the symptoms of having exhausted adrenal glands? I am just curious. I have never heard of this before. Thanks.

My Naturopath did a test and said that my adrenals were exhausted.

I think this be my next port of call. I'm just too pooped at the mo to search for someone qualified and sympathetic. Cortisol levels apparently are relevant too. What I've located that struck a chord with me so far....

Oh yeah, more symptoms were no energy or interest in anything,trembling...I had no appetite. Food and eating made me nauseous yet I didn't start losing weight until I was stabilized (relatively speaking) and on Citalopram as well.

Hope this helps.
