Need Ways To Drown Out External Stimuli

This is why we preface with "as long as you're not claustrophobic" :p

I hope it does get better for you and it's good you can enjoy that kind of freedom. I can't get behind the wheel of a car without shaking-even though none of my trauma (I don't think? I've been in accidents but they were never anything more than fender benders, and I was never the driver) is car related. *shrug* PTSD be weird. :p

Take your comfort where you can. Different people need different things, and it's just as well, or all your subdivisions might not be so empty anymore :p

It really bothers me that people can't just allow others to do what they need to care for themselves. I have not been able to cocoon for months and over time the symptoms pile up and spill out into my daily routine life.

No kidding! I also hide out in my car sometimes. It can be either in its parking space, after a drive and parked somewhere, or just a therapy drive to nowhere at all. Can you do something like that? Find a way to make it happen, if only for a few minutes?

But for an immediate break from stimuli, especially when the depression forces are strong, the shower is my go-to. Closets are not an option for me. I hope you find a way soon. :)
