There is a loop-hole, it is called the first amendment a.k.a. the freedom of speech. If the recordings are presented as journalism, a documentary perhaps, then the first amendment applies and no state shall pass a law denying citizens of their constitutional rights.

Yeah... That doesn't work. Similar to how the first amendment doesn't protect against libel, copyright infringement, child pornography, & other illegal things.

Trust me, whole legions of lawyers are going after these stupid laws, but while it's fairly easy to get around them in public? In the case of Domestic Violence? It's freaking insane. Not even thousands of hours of family video count as implied consent... Because all the abuser has to do is say that they didn't give their consent to be filmed committing a crime (and why would they? That holds too much water in court). The local police are being incredibly good/ helpful in not getting video thrown out immediately (Honey? I didn't see this, you may have tried to show me but I was too busy talking to my partner, okay? I didn't see it. Show it to your attorney. Make sure to tell them I didn't see it, none of us saw it, we were too busy, right Mike? // Whaddareya talking about? See what? You think I have time to be watching shit? I'm here interviewing a very believable story. Why would I need video to believe it?.) & in tricking abusers into admitting some kind of consent to their victims filming them so it can be used against them... Or better yet, straight up confessions of guilt. But DV is an uphill battle from start to finish.

I seem to remember that the many cameras that the BATFE had set up to film their heroic raid on a community of seventh day adventist families (whose main mover, BATFE agents spent range time with, but the BATFE s funding was about to be debated in dc...) Every last one of them mysteriously ejected its tape.

Omg! wow!!! this is a one heated thread! One thing I don't get is why some people have to sabotage the other person to get their point across and to prove themselves correct? I think everyone their own view on situations. I am not familiar with this thread or reading into much information but what I have been seeing in the posts is that everyone is going at one another.

Coming from my personal experience: I view things differently that doesn't mean I am correct Nor I'm incorrect or other people are right/wrong. We are what we experience and how our experiences have made us. Therefore, I don't think @Ed Norton is incorrect at feeling what he is feeling.
