Hi! I’m new here.

I will not get into too much about it here, but I was diagnosed with having PTSD 9 months ago from an event that to me happened 20 years ago.

I will be posting my situation and some about my story on the PTSD forum as soon as possible. I really would like some support from others!

I just want to say, welcome to the group!

I just joined, and I've got to say, it's been quite a journey so far. This is a great place to learn more about PTSD, symptoms, the whole thing. And I've discovered it's a great place to work on recovery. A safe place to talk things out. I've been learning more things about coping with this curious illness of mine ;-)

Wow, a trauma that happened 20 years ago and that got to you more recently? PTSD can definitely work this way. It crept up on me and bit me when I was least expecting it, when I thought I got things together in my life.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

20 years is a long time, good to hear you are now starting on the road to recovery.

Take your time posting, there is no rush, slow and steady makes it easier. For now have a look round the different sections, where you will find loads of information to help you get going.

Hi Nishkaa, thanks for the welcome.

My trauma happened over 20 years ago and I have been hiding the feelings, lying to myself, friends, family and loved ones about it the entire time. I really didn't know what was wrong with me, i just knew some thing was very different.
Look for my story in the PTSD forum soon. I am very interested in others thoughts about my situation.
