Hi I have been following this forum for sometime now. I am just in need of support and help from others that are dealing with some of the same issues as i am. I can't wait to talk with you guys! My boyfriend is a retired Army Ranger. He served 4 tours over seas. He has PTSD and TBI. I am glad this forum is out here so I can get some support. Thanks

Hi Jodie, My husband is suffering from PTSD from his last deployment to Afganistan. Just wanted to say hi and welcome. I'll let you know the names of some books that have helped me, if you're interested.

Yes please do. I need all the info i can get. I am currently reading the ptsd relationship. I just feel so lost and alone sometime. I want to scream sometimes too. Like tonight i cant seem to do anything right and if i am not in a good mood or am upset about something that is unacceptable to my boyfriend. Sorry just a rough night.

Jodi, I completely understand, I've had a rough day. I know exactly what you mean about feeling alone and I've been married to this man 17 years. It's all very confusing. I'm not sure from your post, but I'm thinking your boyfriends PTSD is due to his combat tours over seas. Isn't it a shame what these men go through and they still can't find peace when they come home. It makes me sad. Anyways the book I got the most from is "Courage after fire". It talks to the soldier about what they are feeling and why but I found it useful to know also and at the end of each chapter there are suggestions for family and friends. My husband read "Once a warrior, always a warrior" and found it helpful, so maybe your boyfriend would. Another one is "After the war zone" I found parts of it helpful. The first one I mentioned, I read cover to cover. I was able to get all three from the library. Take Care

Jodi -

Another thing that will help you greatly is to read as much from the sister Combatptsd.org site. It's not open to civilians anylonger to post, but take some time to read what you can from it. Many posts are by the guys who are going through it and are able to share more openly what's going on in their heads. It's a good resource along with the books that Navy recommended. I've read them too, and they are key to learning about ptsd.
