Bruxism, the techo name for it sucks. I cracked a whole heap of my teeth at one stage. now I don't unless something is plaguing me. I have a night guard though.

Could you imagine us in a few years time with a mouthguard in and a CPAP machine, enough to scare any would be burglar.

Jimmy this comes to mind.

Gone, gone, gone, except for the bottom front few. In the deep, dark abyss after my wife died, I was pretty much suicidal so tooth hygiene wasn't even considered. It was like hydrochloric acid on them. When I moved up north, I had them all pulled at once. Bad idea, felt like I was going to bleed to death.

Simple. You want to hang onto them, take good care of them.

Oh, and on the heartburn issue, plain old Arm and Hammer bicarb will knock it down pronto. Strong concentration (cloudy).

  • Now I am on 4mg Prazosin + 2mg Lunesta before bed. in the morning I take 2mg Prazosin + 300mg Wellbutrin XR. it seems that no matter what I take, it only lasts for a little while before I adapt and return to hold sleeping habits, e.i: nightmares, constantly waking up. not being able to fall asleep, waking up tired.

Tanker,

I re-read this thread and all I can say is hang in there. I have had the same regimen of drugs and all the doc can think of is to bump up the dosage. And I fight that idea. Trazodone worked for me for years it seems and then all of a sudden one flashback happened that walked behind me like a ghost for days. Then I was back to cat napping all night and feeling shitty the next day. And that cycle continues.

Sometimes, believe it or not, some of the chants and aphorisms we learned in training, if I said them to myself before trying to sleep, actually worked. But most of the time, my mind is just burning....

I have read that some have been helped with Minipress, but I am skeptical as it is just a drug for hypertension (blood pressure). Maybe it has some effect on the sleep center or adrenergic stress. Literature on Minipress indicates it has reduced nightmares but more research is needed.

The doc said the next step for me is Seroquel. Not going there. I bought some GABA and taken 30 minutes before hitting the rack, it does seem to calm my brain. FWIW.
