Hello,

Diagnosed with PTSD twice as a teen as a result of physical abuse as a child. Have been in foster care. Recently had begun a pretty good career, but was killed in a mass layoff in 2009. I would've been a good employee but there wasn't any work during the few months I was at the company. I have found new jobs but haven't been able to get anything as good since. It's completely killing me particularly because I had shut off from every other part of my life besides school and career many years ago. I'm finding it difficult to go on if I'm not going to have an amazing career and soon. Maybe that's stupid, but too much has gone wrong for this to be a clusterf*ck too.

Hi Mariner,

It really is an awfully good place to be across the board for anyone with the diagnosis. When I bumped into it I was just tired of being alone with this stuff- 'the only one' who felt 'that way'. It's what it seemed like. Being here is hugely helpful, like you don't need to explain yourself all the time because others already know what you're talking about.

Welcome to the forum. There really is a lot of support here, plus a ton of information both in the articles and around the threads. For some reason that's comforting also sometimes.
