Hello every one, My name is Rob i just joined this site as i was also looking online to try to get help with my PTSD. I am an Army infantryman i was deployed twice and wounded in my last tour. i was shot in the face by a sniper thank god he was a shitty shot. ever since that i been having really bad days and today is one of them i have been to docs but they just end in me not going back to them because they keep canceling my appointments. so for the last year or so i have been trying to deal with it my self and it is getting harder ever day. i was kinda hoping you guys can help out with different ways i can handle this .

Welcome Rob,

Mate this site is full of information and has lots of people that can give you ideas and suggestions to help you with ways to deal with the symptoms.
Ideally your VA should be able to guide you to a therapist or even consultation with a psychiatrist or psychologist.

But if you feel comfortable mate, just ask away and I am sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

i tried the whole va Therapist and even private ones and they both really didn't care about making appointments they have made. which pissed me off. i kinda lost trust in the therapist way and i am seeking different ways to help cope with this.

Treb,
First off welcome to the group. Here you will find the support and the advice you so desperately needed. My suggestion to you is to join the American Legion or AMVETs or another orgainization like those. They act as advocates for us. If we get shit from the VA, they step in and help out to get the support and treatment we need. Just remember that no matter what your situation is, there are a lot of people like us who need support, and you have come to the right place. I may not have been wounded in combat but I feel your pain. You are amongst friends and confidants here and you will find that there are alot of us still coping with this crap. It may not ever go away, but you can always come here and vent and seek advice.
