Nightmares are horrid atm

Nightmares are getting bad really bad i dont know what to do everytime i close my eyes and fall asleep the nightmares come and hit me hard I've only been getting afew hours sleep i cant remember the last time i had any restful sleep any advice would gladly be accepted

Sorry you've been having such a difficult time with the nightmares:hug: When my nightmares get really bad, something that sometimes helps is having relaxing music or sounds play on my phone while I go to sleep and while I sleep, sound that is completely unlike the trauma and remind me of where I am and can help with the nightmares. For example, I put on relaxing flute music or ocean waves (googling relaxing sleep music brings up a ton, some help some dont) because they are completely unlike my trauma and relaxing. I do not listen to forest/outside sounds (they make those too for sleep, works for some people) because it reminds me too much of the trauma. I don't bother about turning it off, just leave it playing low, helps with the nightmares sometimes, and if I do wake up from nightmares it reminds me In safe :) Take care:hug:
 
Yea, I find that music really relaxes me as well, I've found that when I wake up suddenly from a nightmare, I can't go back to sleep, in fear of having another one?

So what I do is put my Bluetooth head phones on, connect it to my phone, and listen to music, while I go outside for a smoke.

I got the idea for that in here, when someone posted it up, and tried it, and it really does work. Hope you try it for you're self, good luck.
