Hubby says I should count my blessings because in comparison to other Vets he is a healthnut.

Excuse me, you should count your blessings?! All you're trying to do is to take good care of him. He has no right to put on such an attitude. He may not agree with your opinion about his lifestyle, but that is no reason to talk to you like that.

I know you can't force anyone to change their lifestyle. It's eventually up to him to make the decision. But until then, he could use a crash course in respect.

I really think he does not mean it that way. I know he does respect me. It's okay.

I stick to a juice based diet only. The food is pre-digested and therefore I am not putting my body under excess stress by having it have to digest. This is especially important for me when my body shuts down in my catatonic states as everything halts to a bare minimum and it sometimes takes days before my digestive will move again.

I need hot baths too in order to keep my temperature up as I get chilled to the bone when I experience flashbacks etc.

This morning I figured out that I have IBS. I have been dealing with PTSD for the past 4 years. Along with my ptsd symptoms I have IBS symptoms. They are very similar if you looking into it. As a veteran I think it maybe a unique situation due to military issues. There are some great people out there. Some better at there jobs then others. But in the end we are all human. I hope! Lol

This has been a very educational thread to me as I also have IBS. Have had it for years. I occasionally get flares of it and I have been taking good care of myself. I drink a ton of water to flush my system out and I am feeling pretty good right now. Thanks for all of the really helpful information.

This is not an easy thing to talk about. But I have really bad IBS. I think. I have to be protected 24/7 because of it. Not sure if this is common with really bad IBS because I have never talked to anyone about it due to it being so embarrassing. Any help with this sensitive issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
