Our Pets

One of our cats developed hyperthyroidism this last year. It has been very easy to manage with medication. She had also lost weight and thinning fur but was also drinking excessive amounts of water. Now that she is on the meds she is back to looking like she swallowed a squirrel whole.

I'm glad you got the blood work done. I hope you have an answer and a treatment soon.

That's a good idea. We have dogs who tend to eat the cat food, but I bought a gate for my son's room that blocks the dogs out but lets the cats in. We are hoping that that will help him get more food more often. We leave the dry food out all day and feed him wet food twice a day. He's rather finicky.

He cuddle up with me last night as if to say he forgave me for taking him to the vet.

Vet recently called. Deduced that it is allergies. He said all the blood work was good. A slight elevation in his white blood cells which usually happen when they are allergic to something. Tomorrow I take Sparkles in for an allergy shot. I'm relieved it is nothing more serious.

Thank you for asking!
