Our Pets

Awesome pics @DharmaGirl, thank you for sharing them with us!
and the third is Nugget and her cat Peeper.
That sounds sooo funny; ...So, one of your pets, which is a dog, does have a pet which is a cat?... :roflmao::playful: - Are you sure, that it's not the cat who has a pet-dog?

This is really a great thread! I also love your hardworking cheeky boys @intothelight. :inlove: - They look so over-worked. Poor guys! :hilarious:

One week. Four non-eating, fevered, swollen, lethargic cats. Vet said she has had half a dozen indoor cats the past few days with "fevers of unknown origin". My doctor friend said she thinks it's toxins from Texas since we're in the jetstream. She's expecting sick patients to increase in two weeks. Probably for another thread but whatever. Here's my boy at the vet. Hoping he and his sisters start eating soon. I'm exhausted 'assisting' them with getting food in their mouth.

We're facing a very, very painful time.... My cheeky little lad, yep, the one from my profile page has reached the final stage of his fight with the mitral valve endocardiosis. Although only seven years of age, we received the diagnosis of this illness and its severity 3 weeks ago. I watched him from day to day and now hour after hour getting weaker. The progress of his Illness is so aggressive, so severe... He gets pimobendan and furosemide twice a day. But even the pimobendan helps only about 2 - 3 hours. And then, every further single one of his breaths is a struggle and his heart races and bumps that you can feel its pounding on the back of his head. - I had a very hard time to convince my best friend, that we owe it to him, to let him go.

If you could only see him... He's longing for every word, every small gesture from us. He follows us with his eyes, but his legs wont carry him any longer. We brought him to the vet today (again!), but they still want to try to "help him" with this "crisis". Please, could someone think of him and us? I would appreciate your good thoughts, candles or prayers. So that his death will come soon, to cover him with his merciful blanket of peace. Dear @Recovery4Me, is there anything you know, that would make him a bit more comfortable? Something like your chicken broth (hes allowed only low-sodium food). I would so appreciate any suggestion. The Vets also told us, that such an aggressive progression is quite rare in dogs as young as our little lad.... My heart breaks for him, for his suffering, his fighting, as he doesn't want to let go...
