Our Pets

When I got Siva, the cat, I was at the lowest point I had been to prior to that (does that make sense?). It was even before I started remembering and I was spiraling downwards. Siva saved my life. I actually believe I would not be here today had I not brought her home. She gave me a purpose, and reason to keep going. I had to feed her, clean out the litter box, play with her...the list goes on. She was the first individual who made me feel important. I had to be alive to take care of her. She gave me a reason to live. Twelve years later, she is still by my side.

I am still struggling with my sense of self, but she has brought me to where I am today.

This is an awesome thread!

When I was trying to get myself out of bed this morning, I looked toward the room adjacent to my bedroom. The coffee table impeded full view, but I saw the tip of one of my cat's tail swishing back and forth and against my sweet dog's muzzle. Sadie, my dog, was sitting upright, patiently waiting for me to get up and my cat, Saffron, was tail-swishing a "good morning" to my dog. In spite of the dread to get up, I had to smile at my sweet and funny family.

My cat likes to sleep with me. He pats me or the covers in order to get under. Everyday is the same thing, nap time or night time. I lift up the covers and he takes his sweet time deciding whether he should enter or not. Once he does, he tries to get comfortable. He has to hold my hand or at least have one paw on my arm. It is sometimes annoying to wait for him to do his little ritual, but, once he does, it is very cozy and I can finally sleep.

I use to have a love fest every morning with one of my dogs whenever I woke up. Now my cat has decided to join in so I have to pet both of them before I even crawl out of bed. lol

This picture was taken last weekend at Lake Michigan. It was freezing on the beach and I have no idea how cold the water was, but my dog Molly (black Newfoundland) would not stay out of it. My daughter's Pomeranian had more sense. :)

I have two siamese cats that are very dear to me. A boy and a girl, Sunny and Princess. They're from the same liter, so I call them my twins. (:

They're so lively and loud. They meow at me when I'm crying or when I say "CANNED FOOD" cuz they love canned food more than dry food. They like to flip my laptop over with their heads to try and sit on my lap. hahaha. They stand in front of the fridge when I open it and look in. They're like little people. They're adorable.

They like new plastic smell too.. they lick the shower curtains that are new. Like weirdos. They like string cheese too. Bunch a weirdos they are. <3 I love them so much.

Pets are great for stress relief.
