Wooo Hooo! I passed my exam!
Due to new legislation covering my job I had to complete another course to stay qualified. There are 13 modules in the body of the Certificate plus one extra module I have to do with the National Institute of Accountants. The catch was that I did my study 10 years ago and they would only accept qualifications within the past 5 years. What a bummer.
Well, with a huge amount of effort and 6 hours of preparation of resume, references, skills knowledge and so on I applied for 11 modules of recognition of prior learning exemptions and got them all! Ok, 3 modules to go.
Enrolled in the two modules and I thought I had to the end of June. Opened one of the modules the last week of May (had since February) and found it was a 50 hour module and was due on 4 June. Absolutely sh*t myself and sat in my pyjamas for 2 days and 1 other day to try and do all the assessments (assignments) of the 50 hour module; deciding to leave the law one to next term or suffer a nervous breakdown. Good news is I passed all the assignments.
Next problem, I find out I had to sit an exam for this module and it had to be completed by 11 June (last day of semester). Ok....booked in on the 11th (one week and booked full time with work including Wednesday night) but didn't worry too much as the exam preparation sheet said it was 3 or 4 questions and to be completed in a hour. Couldn't be too bad I thought and had booked in a client for after the exam. Studied 1/2 an hour!
Walked into the exam (phone off) to find out it was a three hour exam (couldn't ring client) and instead of 3 - 4 questions it was 26 pages of questions. Almost had a baby!! I was so cheesed off as it didn't even cover what we were told to study (things I didn't even look at or know) with the assessor later saying that she had no idea what was in the exam (rubbish - as she would have marked others) and that it could have covered anything in the entire book even though the preparation sheet told us what it would cover. I did write an email expressing my frustration with the entire situation - like I had time to read an entire book and answer pages and pages of self test questions. Aren't they supposed to guide us in what we need to learn to achieve the competency outcomes?
Anyway, just got an email from my assessor and I passed the exam with high marks. Wooo hoo!
Now I have to pull my finger out and work on the Australian Business Law one (yuck!).
