The confidence to try the job out though is something you can hold on to... and you caught on that it was a scam. Those are two successes/accomplishments that you can hold on to. Check your local papers or consider trying for a job in your local area part time?

I have highly reactive asthma. to smokers and cleaners , chemicals, but not to pets, so pet sitting seemed to be an option for me where i could request a non smoker and have a safe environment for me to breathe in. most places have at least one smoker and that person would have to be at least 5 feet away from me at all times. Further if it was a brand im highly allergic to.

It still can be an option for you. That particular lead proved not to be legitimate, but that doesn't mean petsitting itself is not legitimate, or a good idea to keep pursuing.

One option might be to advertise for yourself rather than go through a third party. Or you can look for another agency.

Sorry this one turned out to be crap, but well done for both applying and for spotting the scam. Don't give up on the idea though :)

i called police, they said well you arent out any money so we really cant do anything.... figures , youd think they would want you to report .

followup... this jerk emailed me again... I said keys or im not cashing the check. (which i still havent recieved) my european friends saw the latest mail and said it reminded them of that "prince"" whos supposed to stay with you scam... figures.

Ella if you have a physical address of the home, you can verify the owner at the Property Appraiser's office or in some counties/states online... it's public domain.
