The last of the sunflowers. I won’t take them down out back as they are a trellis for the morning glories . They put out little blooms after I dead headed them. Not the big ones . I ended up with no seeds pretty much and I’m thinking that’s because I cut them early, but I’m not sure. Seems to me it was either cut them or fight off the squirrels and birds and I’m already fighting the rats. The big sunflower heads were wormy, and they got moldy on me. I have a 2nd bucket of seeds out back but I’m not getting around to them. If they dry I’ll see what I can do but my wife’s family is coming the end of the week. Chaos. The yard was great this year, even with all the angst. It was rainy and wet and everything grew like the tropics. No burned out grass. Fun.
Here is a rough day and a big high tide. The surfer is on an inflatable stand up paddle board like the one I got late this summer. I was interested to watch him in these conditions, as controlling the board in that much wind is quite a challenge or would be for me. He did well and I thought physically he must be much stronger than I am at my current weight meaning, not very.
