This is where I wish I could be right now. Listening to the ocean waves is so wonderfully relaxing. This was the view from our hotel room at Canon Beach, Oregon. The seagulls thought they were our friends. We kept feeding them hot dog buns and they thought that was a feast!

I was down in Florida one time and I was eating a hot dog. I had it in my hand and I was talking excitedly about something, gesturing with my hands raised, and a gull flew down and grabbed my whole hot dog out of my hand and flew off with it and ate it! I was left there with this dumb look on my face and EVERYONE was laughing at me hysterically (and I am laughing right now, tears and all)! It was an outdoor cafe and the owners were kind enough to give me another dog for free too! I guess this was a common occurrence there. @Still Standing

I have a sad story to tell today. I had a digital camera that was superb in catching close-ups. It also did long shots, but I kind of enjoy getting into the minute details a lot with my photographing. Anyway, I was trying to photograph a rose in the rain and I accidentally got the camera wet! It died. I could not revive it, no matter what I did. Finally I bought another camera, but it was not very good at close-ups and it eventually died too. So now I use my phone and or a little keychain cam that I have. Both are quite good at catching close-ups, so I am pleased. None the less, I don't go out in bad weather with either of them to take photos! And unfortunately, we have had a lot of that lately.... so be careful not to get your digital cameras or phones wet!

A friend of mine took an expensive digital camera to the beach last summer and had it in his shirt pocket and was standing in ankle deep sea water and bent down and *plop* the camera fell in the salt water....... :arghh;
