[Reclusive]

This is a purely wild white-winged dove. She just decided to nest on our porch so we've been staying out of the back yard so we don't bother her. We were really lucky I didn't scare her off, I thought the nest was uninhabited when I first found it, not realizing I had scared her away.

Okay, so the last picture was taken on the 22nd, and this one was taken just a couple minutes ago. He's growing fast! Turns out the other egg didn't hatch, so we just have the one hatchling. But he's doubled in size! Mama was out getting food so I was able to snap this - he wasn't afraid at all, just chillin'.

Okay, and a couple minutes later, mama bird came back with breakfast!

NH...Haha....yeah, I wish I had time to get it made into a Mother's Day card with the caption. "I got you flowers for Mother's Day.....but I ate them.....I saved the stems for you though!"

The little hatchling and mama aren't in their nest right now. I can't believe he's flying already! I wonder if they'll come back? If they do, their nest will be waiting for them. :D

That's a hailstone in the first pic, and the third is a pic of the wild blackberries and raspberries growing near my pond.

That's a hailstone? Wow.......I love the circles in it! Neat photos, love the moon one too!

I love picking wild berries. I made a blackberry cobbler this week from berries I picked and froze last summer. I HATE how they will take over though if you don't stay on top of them! A friend came over with his tractor last fall to clear out a bunch from part of our pasture.

You know, the number of rings in a hailstone tell you how many times it was recirculated through the storm cloud.

I can't believe the hailstone is that big and you're actually holding it! We don't get weather like that here. I love the circles, too. Didn't know that about it circulating through the cloud, though! Makes sense.
