me and my stepdad are on the way home from visiting grandparents. I'm having some pretty bad physical flashbacks where I feel them, don't see them. I want to puke :(. I just want to be home out of the truck. I need air but my stepdad doesn't want to stop. I am not comfortable enough telling him what's happening. We are still an hour away! I've tried mindfulness techniques and nothing is working. :((

Sorry about what you are going through!

Could you just tell him you feel sick and need him to stop the car (which wouldn't be lying - you do feel sick) and not mention the flashback part of it? Lots of people get carsick, there's nothing weird about that.

Agree with Sun Seeker
you feel you need air
- better if you tell to your stepdad, and if your relationship is trustworthy I think you can tell the flashbacks too... But if you wouldn't feel comfortable about it just say you are sick

We did just pull over for a second. It didn't help :(. I need my service dog, but she's at home because we didn't have room in truck. Ughhhhhhhhhh

I'm home. It was crazy for a bit taking down old bed, putting up new. But finally its me and Bristol alone in my room. I am finally coming out of dissociation a bit, but still on edge. Threw up 2 times :(. Now trying to focus on room. All of this was to make my room a "safer" sanctuary for me. The bed was for my back, but it is also smaller (went from a queen to a day bed) so it can fit up against the wall. Now I can sleep against wall with Bristol in front of me. Plus now my desk is in my room for my art work and studying for class. I also have a huge amount of empty space in the middle for doing mindfulness work and yoga.

Thinking on these things...
