It seems to me that any event that is significantly traumatic has the potential to cause PTSD.

PTSD is a clinical diagnosis and one must meet the established criteria for the diagnosis.oys already been explained, bad trips do not meet Crtieria A, and they are specifically excluded under Criterion H:

Symptoms are not due to medication, substance use, or other illness.

One can truly be in great suffering and pain due to the effects and experiences from drug use. No doubt about it. One does not have to have the specific clinical condition of PTSD to need help.
