Possible somatic issues?

Hello,

I am wondering if I am experiencing somatic issues? I was abused physically, sexually, and emotionally all my childhood. I have left the abusive situation. So I was sexually abused until I was 15 and now for a few years have been experiencing burning while urinating. I was tested for stds and the tests came back negative. I don't have a kidney stone. Is this somatic?

I recently went to the hospital because I sleep a lot ( 10-12 hours a day), have diarrhea, unexplained weight loss ( I love to eat a lot, no appetite loss), pain all over my body, and persistent cough. All my tests came back negative. Is all this somatic? If this is somatic, what are your suggestions for helping decrease or eliminate them?

Any advise would be helpful.

Could I ask if you saw the results of your blood tests? I am sure your doctors checked that but wanted to confirm.

I have had lots of somatic pain but like you I try to eliminate organic causes or take care of a stressed out system physically.

Blood tests tell a lot.

3 tbs. apple cider vinegar with 8 oz. water daily can help straighten out GI tract instability. The juice of a lemon (plus maple syrup for taste) and any anti-inflammatory spices added to the mix will up your pH which is often acidic due to the tremendous impact of stress hormones flooding the body. When your pH is too low, you don't feel good.

But I would continue to check in with the doctors and specialists. I don't like the sound of that weight loss and cough (although if you smoke or smoked that might explain it.) I assume you had a chest x-ray.

I sure hope you get better soon.

Thank you for responding so quickly. I did have a chest x - ray. My PH levels were within normal range. I have never smoked, but my abusers were smokers. I am not on any medications. I have not been to a therapist or even a family physician unfortunately, I don't have insurance. Is it possible to have a UTI for 7 years?

Re: burning urination, whatever doctor you did see would have checked your blood test for a high white cell count for UTI or kidney infection.

Garlic supplements are a natural anti-biotic, but if you have no infection...still they are a good supplement anyway.

No matter if this stems from your abuse or not, you must take care of this. These symptoms are serious.
You may never have been taken care of as a child, but you cannot perpetuate this neglect and abuse.

Borrow the money and get this checked out. Your system is not retaining nutrients with frequent diarrhea and your pH cannot be normal with the highly acid environment this creates, and you can get very seriously ill. It will likely not go away on its own if you have had burning urination for seven years.

I understand not wanting to see a doctor. I hate going, but you must treat yourself as someone you love very much and find a way to take care of this. You are worth every last penny.

Is all this somatic?
Definitely follow up on this stuff. Don't just assume it is somatic. Something is going on with you, and you must get checked out even if you don't have insurance (are you in the US? have you gone through the challenge of trying to get onto the govt insurance?). I have spent a lot of money on treatments my insurance doesn't cover. It has created a lot of financial stress in my life bc it is money I don't have, but these things seem to be helping me and that has to take priority. You need to love and cherish yourself!

I'm going to try this! I have been drinking a tea in the morning with powdered ginger, fresh lime juice and a little honey at the recommendation of my yoga/aryuvedic lady, but I might switch to this.

I would recommend taking an FOBT (fecal blood test) which you can buy at the drug store. If you are having GI issues, you could have ulcers, colitis, etc. Seems like they weren't too thorough! Don't give up on this..go back.
