My friend's Psychiatrist has told her to stop talking to everyone (including me) but her family and one or two friends (who don't know she has PTSD) and not to be friends with me anymore. The doc. said no one could possibly understand what is going on in her mind and would only confuse her and make it worse. She doesn't want our friendship to end, but says I have to follow my Dr's advice. I respect this and have. But is this really good advice from a Dr.? I admit I am the only friend she has told that she has PTSD. She now wishes she didnt tell me and not to bother with her, she's not worth it. Any thoughts?
