Welp, that... Today had a session and my P is taking me off Xanax, but is considering increase in dosage... He told me to taper off it with the last couple pills I have, I guess

He is currently not giving any alternative option, other than heightening Zoloft or grounding techniques and similar :(

Saelben, do you have enough to safely taper? THat is my biggest concern. I'd been on a high dose for about a month, and then got a stomach virus and was unable to hold ANYTHING down, including tiny sips of water or medication. WIthin three days, the dehydration and withdrawal from stopping the xanax cold turkey left me in respiratory distress. It took weeks to get the withdrawal symptoms under control enough to be discharged from the hospital. So I'd really recommend a slow taper, not just quitting cold turkey.

I have enough for a couple full doses, so I will taper off in about a week

My first reaction when he told me he is taking me off xanax was fear and anger...

I don't know what to do about panic attacks

How long did he tell you to taper off? The side effects can be really unpleasant if you don't do it over a couple weeks.
