Christ that sounds like me when I'm doing badly.

IME VetCenters are about a bazillion times better than the VA when it comes to PTSD. I'm biased, though. You'd have to shoot me outside the ER to get me to willingly walk into one. I despise the VA, although I'm sure there are good ones out there. Which is another nice thing, about VetCenters, they're not affiliated with the VA, even though they're funded by them :sneaky: They're pretty much designed to cut through all the red tape and nonsense that was keeping so many combat vets from reaching out for help. Their records stay local, they have waaaaay more in the way of outpatient programs, the same counselors (most of whom are both psychologists & combat vets themselves), groups, sports, all kinds of stuff. Including same week appointments at most (my VA has months long waiting lists, and then you show up, and your appt was cancelled, next appointment on the 12th of Never? Is that good for you? :banghead: ).

I'm currently meeting with a bloke from the local VetCenter on a college campus just because I'm too damn twitchy to deal with brick, barbed wire, and walking onto a base (a lot are located privately, my local one is on a coastie station :wtf: ) with my tail between my legs, all f*cked up and broken. So, thinking they'd tell me to f*ck off, I called to see if anyone would be willing to meet me off base. Yep. Sure thing! Damn.
