I went through multiple psychiatrists before I found one that actually helped me. It may be that you will have to go through a few therapists before you find the right one for you but keep trying! If you don't like them, give them the boot and find another one! Eventually you will find one that's a good fit.
 
That's encouraging, it's not the Therapist, it's me. I guess I'm stubborn anyway and can be a bit of a rebel so if we do the maths:-

Rebel+Stubborn+Denial+Therapist=
Disaster!

Lol - I will try harder next time but I like the 'give them the boot' bit ;)
 
I'm sorry you're going through this, hon. Your mother may never acknowledge whats happened because in order for her to do so she has to face her own feelings of guilt which is not in the nature of the ego (the ego does what it can to preserve itself at all costs). Be the mother you wish you had toward yourself, show yourself the kindness you never had--even when it seems the hardest thing in the world to do. I also recommend emotional freedom technique (EFT) for acknowledging and releasing emotions in a healthy way. You can change the words around to suit your exact situation if need be.
