I just wanted some advice... Me and my boyfriend have discussed the whole having children thing and I was wondering what people's thoughts are on having children with someone that has been diagnosed with PTSD. Is this a good idea or not???

Before you consider kids, you need to be sure that the relationship you have is solid. You will need the support, and the kids will need a good father. You will not want to "go it alone".

As far as the PTSD, it makes it harder, but kids bring much joy into your life. They also take a lot of your attention and love. You have to be prepared to give that of yourself.

I realize that we need to have a good solid relationship first... And I know that he would make a great father. We have just discussed it so far. Not in depth though.. He has nieces and nephews that he is really close with and I see how he interacts with them. So I think that if we were to have kids that wouldn't be the issue. The part that I am kinda not necessarily stressed over but just concerned about is how will PTSD, anxiety, and depression play out if we have children?? And I would definitely want to be married to him before we have children. Might be old fashioned thinking but that's what I would want. And I can't wait to become a "Mom"!!! I love kids!!!
