Hello, I was diagnosed with PTSD a year ago, but thanks to my therapist i managed to control it with ease, and it hadn't appeared until now. I began playing old games i liked just for nostalgia, but now I'm getting nightmares related to abuse or children being groomed (despite me having been groomed around my 14s). Even in my dreams i am horrified at this and want it to stop. It has made grounding myself a bit harder, since i tried to ignore the nightmares and keep playing old games foe nostalgia, which made it worse.

Is there anything i can do? My therapist isn't available right now and i feel I'll go crazy if i have another nightmare or unwanted memory of the anxiety/bad experiences i had between 8th and 10th grade.

I've noticed the only way to "lessen" this effect is to stop watching whatever brings me memories right away, but it's a bit frustrating to know i can't enjoy the series/games i used to just for fun. I can only lock them out.

maybe pick them out till your T is back? It sounds like they are working as a trigger. Doesn't mean you can't go back to them. Just means not right now
