The irony... there is no such thing as combat PTSD. Argh! It is just normal every day PTSD, but from combat trauma.
Yep... if there was something new about PTSD, I would be disappointed in myself if I didn't know it and have shared it with the forums. To be honest, it sucked. I didn't really learn anything that I didn't already know about PTSD itself and the stuff that I didn't know, I didn't care that much about.
Did the presenter tell you that the latest data actually now says stay away from SSRI's for PTSD? All the leading PTSD experts pretty much acknowledge this approach now, as SSRI's cause more damage than they do good. There are other medication types that treat PTSD better, with least issue, than SSRI's and the infamous pharmaceutical mistruth of chemical imbalance. Neuro-science kind off shot down that 70's furfy (lie). The presenter had slide after slide about how Seratonin Re-uptake Inhibitors work and the differences between them and MAOIs... ...anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, mood stablizers and anti-psychotics...
The cookies I would gone for alone... screw the presentation :coffee:So, it wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be, but I got to thank a Vet for his service and the cookies were awesome! :)
