It's called PTSD Coach and it's a free app the VA and the DoD collaborated on. I just downloaded it on iTunes but I'm tired as hell and I won't actually check it out until tomorrow. Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up if anyone has a smart phone with an app store of some kind. I've got an iPhone but I'm sure it's on other phones too. I just saw a news story about it on Newsy. Anyway take it easy.

Wow, Ned and I were just having a discussion about how PTSD is like a bad program loop for some of the symptoms...... And now there is an App.

Looking for the BIG App someday that will just fix this shit. Thanks!!!!

I have not gone through it totally, but it looks ok for basic info. It would be great for veterans who have no other avenue. It still directs you to your therapist or emergency numbers and that one is 911. I would be interested to see if they could adapt it to Australia, the UK and other countries. I will have a better look tomorrow and let you know what my opinion is, but in the end, its better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Tried with my super dazzling Nokia, but no go. But it is available on Android as well I see. So yes. maybe time for a new phone.

Also see they have a PTSD family coach version coming out. Perhaps the emergency numbers are editable. But then again I'd probably have better luck with 911 than emergency services in Norway. Doh!

I recently upgraded my phone as well. Got rid of the rotary dial and got a push button phone.
Whats a cell phone?
I cant afford to have one and if I did I could only call myself so whats the bother?
Also, I think life has a better quality without all the gadgets. I could be happy with just a radio if the kids and wife we not addicted to the idiot's box.

I envy you not having a mobile phone. Sometimes I really hate them. I had to search for hours to get my rings and alarms down right. Otherwise I'd jump out of my skin.

I set mine for every damn ring on the thing and it still scares the crap outta me every time it goes off. I put it on vibrate and put it in my shirt pocket but I must have a numb tit or something cause I don't feel it go off. Hey! Ain't no big deal, I get all of what, one call a month? Main reason I carry it at all is if I break down thirty miles out on the woods or something.

Cell phone and a Garmin...priceless!!!

Mine is my notepad, my diary, and has some mind numbing games on it. I also have some of my favorite songs on it, and last but not least its good for calling people and texting. My fingers are not as coordinated these days though.

I have mine on silent too even though I customised the ringtone to a favorite verse in a song it still scares the bejesus out of me. The vibration is not enough to alert me. I used to unplug the house phone and turn my phone off sometimes because I did not want to be bothered.
