Hi Brenda

Welcome to the forum.

There are a few members here, who have also had auto accidents, they too struggled with so many things since. They have then moved forward, with therapy, and a lot of support and encouragement.

Take your time reading some of the other members stories, KP the nut comes to mind, who also had an auto accident back in Feb 2010, and she is now driving again.

Take care and keep going, it will get easier in time.

Hi Brenda,

I too was in a car accident. It happened in 2005 and I am still dealing with so many issues. It took me close to 2 years before I would even drive up our driveway. Now I am able to drive again, but still have some days that I get in the car and just freeze and cannot go anywhere.

I wish I could tell you that it gets better on it's own, but it doesn't. It is constant work to just survive some days.

Hi Brenda, welcome to the forum. As Amethist said my PTSD was triggered by a car crash.

I live in a rural county in England, without a car I would be a prisoner as we have very little public transport. For a while I was reclusive, home was the only place I felt safe. With support from my family, this forum and a wonderful EMDR therapist I am regaining my confidence.
